Assistant Director of Finance and Business Services
This position reports to the director of administrative services, and assists with the day-to-day management of the financial, administrative, and general operations of the Department of Aerospace Engineering. Additionally, this position will manage the implementation of new business initiatives and ensure the department's compliance with federal and non-federal regulations.
Education and Experience: B.S. in Business or related field and 5 years of work experience in administrative, financial and managerial work.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work within a Microsoft platform: Excel, Word, Access.
Ability to communicate effectively, utilizing both verbal and written communication.
The ability to work with a varied and diverse group of departments. This will include the following on campus departments: Sponsored Programs Accounting and Compliance (SPAC), Office of Research Administration (ORA), Procurement, Physical Plant, Bursars office and the University of Maryland Foundation.
Ability to develop web-based systems is desirable.
Experience in sponsored research administration in a higher education setting. Familiarity with BA3/BA4
Project management experience desirable
