The National Guard's full-time support program requires that all military technicians are members of the National Guard and are appointed to full-time positions which correspond to their military assignments. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: An applicant must have a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade.
TO BE CONSIDERED AT THE WG-12 LEVEL APPLICANTS MUST POSSESS THE FOLLOWING:
Must have at least a three-skill (3) level in one of the compatible AFSCs, with Twelve (12) months'of work experiences, that
involved duties such as, inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and modifying software controlled automated and manually controlled test stations, electronic circuit maintenance pods, peripherals, support equipment and associated subsystems. Knowledgeable of stations that are used to repair and maintain all avionics line-replaceable units and pods.
TO BE CONSIDERED AT THE WG-13 LEVEL APPLICANTS MUST POSSESS THE FOLLOWING:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:Must have at least Twelve (12) months of specialized experiences working as an Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic, WG-2610-12, and must possess the craftsman (7) level of knowledge and skills to install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions. Experiences included the ability and skills to perform on-or off-equipment maintenance on one or more complete electronic integrated systems associated with the assigned aircraft and/or maintenance on systems such as, automatic flight control systems, instrument systems, inertial and radar navigation systems. Experienced in performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on one or more multi-complex electronic integrated systems. Experiences included completing operational checks, inspections, tests, trouble shooting, removal and replacement of line-replaceable-units which are linked with integrated systems and line-replaceable-units which are independent or associated with nonintegrated systems.
BASIC QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To qualify an applicant for one of the FWS Series 2610 ANG Dual Status Technician positions, apply and evaluate the applicant's competencies, military and civilian experiences, completed education, learned skills, obtained knowledge, endorsed abilities, and training program accomplishments. The following seven basic qualification factors are applicable to the FWS ANG Dual Status Technician positions:
- Skilled in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Skilled in duties such as, install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes
- Ability to format and write English in reports and presentation formats
- Skilled in presenting formal training presentations and briefings
- Skilled in applying procedures and directives by reading and interpreting material
- Skilled in training, mentoring, leading, and problem-solving
To initially qualify and prior to appointment, an applicant's military medical record must indicate a completed and current medical physical, medical profile, a cleared drug test; and, normal color vision as defined in AFI 48-123, Medical Examinations and Standards.
To initially qualify and as a condition of continued dual status technician employment, must have the capability to lift, carry, push, or otherwise handle items weighing up to 70 pounds.
To initially qualify and as a condition of continued dual status technician employment, must have the physical capability to stand, climb, walk, bend, crouch, reach, and stoop over extended periods of time.
As a condition of continued dual status technician employment, the employee must complete the hazmat certification within six months of employment and complete hazmat recertification every two years.
As a condition of continued dual status technician employment, the employee must maintain the position's mandatory AFSC skill level and continue on-the-job proficiency requirements.
As a condition of continued dual status technician employment, the employee requires routine access to classified Secret material or similar environment. For award and retention of a compatible AFSC, the employee must have a current National Agency Check, Local Agency Checks and Credit (NACLC) according to AFI 31-501, Personnel Security Program Management. The employee's clearance reinvestigations must be opened prior to the expiration of his or her current investigations.
ANG ENLISTED: To qualify an enlisted applicant for hire consideration into an ANG Dual Status Technician FWS 2610 position, award of the compatible Air Force Specialty Code, Craftsman Seven Skill Level; Journeyman Five Skill Level; or, the Apprentice Three Skill Level, with the position's compatible unit position assignment and a high school diploma, are mandatory requirements. Completion of high school courses in physics, algebra, trigonometry, and computer principles is desirable. Higher academic college courses and degrees that are aligned within the FWS Series 2610 type of work tasks are also desirable.
For the WG-2610-12 ANG Dual Status Technician positions, the mandatory military training requirements are the completion of an Air Force Three Skill Level Technical Training School and successful On-the-Job training that will result or resulted in the award of a compatible Five Skill Level AFSC.
For the WG-2610-13 ANG Dual Status Technician positions, the mandatory military education requirements are the completion of an Air Force Seven Skill Level Technical Training School and awarded a compatible Seven Skill Level AFSC, along with the successful completion of at least one military professional education course program.
