PenFed is hiring a Title Agent in Ashburn, Virginia. The primary purpose of this job is to serve as a title agent for all refinance and resale transactions. In addition, the title agent will provide support to the PenFed Staff, PenFed members and vendors, to clear title on all transaction closing through PenFed.


Essential Functions

    Review contracts to ensure that all applicable terms are reflected on CD. Work with title review to resolve title issues. Confirm receipt of title abstract, survey and lien certificate — follow up when necessary. Confirm title premiums and recording fees. Prepare CD and forward to Agents, Lender/Broker. Obtain all payoffs, liens, judgments, HOA/condo dues prior to settlement. Work directly with agents, lenders, buyers, sellers and settlement officers to ensure a smooth settlement. Contact lender for loan package, process loan package and balance file. Prepare final CDs, forward for approval as appropriate. Prepare and assemble final package for Settlement Officer, print package or push to remote Settlement Officer Printer as required.

Education and Experience

Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

    Minimum of two (2) years’ of processing experience in Title Industry. Virginia Pre-Closing Settlement knowledge or extensive mortgage experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and customer service orientation.


Supervisory Responsibility

This position will not supervise employees.


Licenses and Certifications

Virginia Title license is required.


Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.

*Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.*



Limited travel to various worksites is required.
