Job Description:
Optima Health is seeking a Staff Development Educator with a passion for wellness to join our Health and Preventative Services Team with a focal emphasis role in Tobacco Cessation Education. This is a full-time, benefited position located in Virginia Beach, VA.

Responsible for planning, developing, implementing and evaluating health education programs, which are based on behavioral objectives with, defined measurable outcomes. Responsible for providing quality services and programs to meet identified needs of targeted populations of different learning abilities. Responsible for maintaining knowledge of national preventive health issues and strategies in order to function as a resource in the areas of preventive health, health maintenance, and health promotion.

Master's Level Degree - HEALTH EDUCATION OR
RN-Master's Level Degree

Experience
Required: Business Acumen - Previous experience, Health Education Programs - 5 years, Management - Previous experience

Other
Master Level Degree Health Education, Nursing or Related Field. Cert Health Education Specialist (CHES), Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Nurse (RN) required. Knowledge of medical terminology. Experience in public speaking, including teaching and presentation skills. Knowledge of goal setting and the ability to develop behavioral objectives with measurable outcomes. Applicants without CHES certification will have one year from the date of hire to obtain.
