Job Summary


Westat is seeking an experienced clinical trialist to join our team as a Medical Monitor Consultant for commercial oncology trials at a 30% level of effort. The candidate could be based anywhere in the US, but must be able to communicate via state of the art communication technology, e.g. Skype, webinar, etc. Approximately 10% time would be for travel to clinical sites and/or meetings.

Job Responsibilities


Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to: working with our commercial clients on oncology research; assume the lead of pharmacovigilance program; provide oversight to protocol development; assume the chair of the data and safety monitoring committee; collaborate with other members of the health care team (e.g., nurses, pharmacists, statisticians, data managers); review of statistical output; medical writing; and provide input to business development.

Job Requirements


· A medical oncologist, MD is required, PhD is desirable.
· 10 or more years of experience as a medical oncologist, preferably in an academic setting.
· Membership in professional oncology associations and societies.

The desired candidate will have experience with drug development, in commercial oncology research. The successful candidate must have excellent verbal and medical writing skills. The candidate must be able to work well with other members of the team.
