Responsibilities: Elicits and documents patient's chief complaint; prepares patient and assists with examination; performs routine office testing such as blood pressure, vision, hearing, urine dipstick, rapid strep screen and phlebotomy; assists with procedures such as pelvic examination, incision and debridement; prepares and administers medications including injections as directed; keeps records of medications given; assists with clarification of patient instructions on diagnostic test preparation and medication administration; draws blood, collects and processes laboratory specimens, and records results; prepares and maintains examination and treatment areas including necessary supplies; sterilizes instruments and equipment; performs clerical duties such as answering phones, greeting and directing clients, scheduling and monitoring appointments, obtaining and processing information; performs filing of medical records as well as tracking immunization records; assists with filing, preparing invoices as well as other clerical duties; signs for and distributes UPS/Fed Ex/Airborne packages, mail; coordinates and maintains records for staff office space, phones, parking, company credit cards and office keys; setups and coordinates meetings and conferences; supports staff in assigned project based work; other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED and successful completion of an accredited program for medical assistants required. One (1) year related experience preferred. General knowledge of the principles of aseptic techniques and infection control including blood and bodily fluid precautions. General knowledge and skill and ability to administer medications, assist with treatments and operate medical equipment. General knowledge of and ability to meet the requirements for compliance with confidentiality of records and communications regarding clients. Must possess the skill and ability to use aseptic and sterile techniques; to interact with the public, health care providers, agencies and facilities. Ability to perform extensive standing and walking; to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to operate standard office equipment.

SALARY: $28,956 $33,000
