The American Enterprise Institute (AEI) is seeking a staff accountant to join its accounting team.
The staff accountant will be responsible for managing the accounts payable; processing payments to AEI staff, contractors, and outside vendors; and assisting in the analysis of financial data, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger. Financial analysis responsibilities include helping prepare financial statements, account reconciliations, and various results analysis. Additional responsibilities include assisting with closing process and annual audits. The staff accountant will report to the controller.
The ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting with a minimum of four years of relevant experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting. CPA is preferred. The candidate must be proficient in Excel and have a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Strong verbal and written communications skills, attention to details, and the ability to work in a team environment are essential.
