VICE PRESIDENT, RESEARCH
Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking an experienced economic development executive to manage its Research Division. The Vice President, Research will provide leadership to an array of activities to provide relevant, accurate and complete research findings, information and analyses. Core activities under the direction of the Vice President, Research include project research/proposal development, economic and market analysis, and geographic information systems.
This position requires at least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in business or economic development research and a comprehensive knowledge of principles and practices of the economic development process, research techniques, and economic analysis. At least two years of experience with a leading management consulting firm or other business organization with sophisticated capabilities in managing knowledge, producing actionable insights, and developing distinctive reports and presentations is desired. Advanced expertise in data visualization and presentation for both quantitative and qualitative content and customized proposal development is preferred.
The successful applicant must be able to work under pressure, produce and deliver proposals within tight deadlines and have strong communication skills, including experience making presentations. The Vice President, Research must be able to effectively manage and develop a diverse staff and establish an environment conducive to team building. A graduate degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Public Administration, or related field preferred. A valid driver’s license is required. Salary commensurate with experience.
