The U.S. Soccer Foundation’s programs are the national model for sports-based youth development in underserved communities. Since its founding in 1994, the Foundation has established programs proven to help children embrace an active and healthy lifestyle while nurturing their personal growth beyond sports. Its cost-effective, high-impact initiatives offer safe environments where kids and communities thrive. 

The U.S. Soccer Foundation seeks a full-time Fellow (40 hours/week). Reporting to the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s Program Manager, this selected individual will have the opportunity to learn a variety of different programmatic skills while implementing a national sports-based youth development program and conducting research on mentorship, health & wellness, community engagement, and sports-based youth development.


• Ability to work in a fast paced environment

• Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments with a wide range of staff

• Self-starter, exhibiting a strong work ethic, ability to maximize work with minimal supervision

• Strong oral, written, research, and interpersonal skills

• Exhibit a positive behavior and attitude, and model a mature and professional demeanor

• Organized, detail-oriented thinker, with the ability to think critically and analytically

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

• Experience with CRM platforms 

• Basic knowledge of and/or interest in youth development programming 

• Basic knowledge of and/or interest in soccer



Urban Soccer Symposium 

• Coordinate workshop presenters and content

• Coordinate communication with Symposium presenters and attendees

• Plan and execute event logistics

• Design and distribute collateral materials for the event


Soccer for Success Training & Technical Assistance

• Support the activation of new and ongoing Soccer for Success partners

• Support the technical assistance of Soccer for Success program operators, including resources and tools for administrators and coach-mentors

• Support communication between the U.S. Soccer Foundation and Soccer for Success grantees, including scheduling, planning and execution of monthly calls

• Support the planning and implementation of all pre- and post-training evaluations and site visits, and implement improvements as needed

• Support the planning and logistics of the Facilitator Summit, National Training, and Local Trainings

• Conduct research to integrate the latest mentorship, health & wellness, community engagement, and sports-based youth development best practices into curriculum and training materials

• Monitor and enhance the Soccer for Success curriculum and resource center


Program Grants 

• Support the program grants application and review process

• Support the program grants execution process

• Support the evaluation of program grant impact
