Data Storage Analyst (System Programmer II)

Designs, engineers, implements, monitors and maintains storage solutions in the enterprise-wide and specialized business data storage environments (currently including Flash, SAN and NAS and future). Supports enterprise-wide data storage daily operations, reporting and data analytics development. Advises DIT senior management, and agencies' IT analysts on determining requirements and the associated capabilities for data storage. Provides third level escalation support for enterprise back-ups and the county's storage infrastructure. Serves as an integral part of the technical support team, working closely with the applications and systems analysts, server and storage managers, and other IT professionals and business managers to develop and execute IT programs. Assists in county-wide project planning, technology investigation, training and implementation of server back-up and SAN solutions. Provides 24 x 7 support as needed. Participates in COOP and DR activities. Responds to emergency maintenance requirements. Performs other duties as assigned.Employment Standards MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to the following: possession of an associate's degree in computer science or related field; plus four years' systems programming experience; or possession of a bachelor's degree in computer science, or closely related field; plus two years' systems programming experience in a complex information systems environment.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check to the satisfaction of the employer.
Six years of data storage experience in complex storage administration and management working with NetApps, IBM XIV, Infinidat storage and other, and Actifio, and Veritas Net Backup products or similar. Working knowledge of records retention and electronic data management a plus.
Work is generally sedentary, performed in office or data center environment. Some lifting of equipment up to 50 pounds may be required. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
