Primary Purpose

The Accountant must be able to work effectively with individuals both within the Accounting Department as well as outside the department. They will bring an understanding of Emmes policy and Government regulations related to travel and allowable expenses, and will be able to apply and communicate these regulations in the performance to their work. Emmes is seeking an Accountant to join our collaborative and accomplished accounting team.

Responsibilities

  • Accurate and timely entry of vendor invoices into the Accounts Payable system in Deltek GCS Premier

  • Review expense reports submitted through the Unanet system to ensure the costs are allowable, in line with Company policy and Government regulations, and allocated to the correct accounts

  • Issuing check payments to vendors and organizing accounting records

  • Ability to apply company policies and procedures to resolve routine issue

  • Miscellaneous administrative tasks and ad hoc assignments

Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field with 2 years of experience; in lieu of degree 3 years of demonstrated accounting experience

  • Experience working in a Federal Government Contracting environment is a plus

  • Strong organization, time management, and analytical skills

  • Experience with Deltek GCS Premier software

  • Proficient with MS Office applications

  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills

  • Detail oriented
