The National Academy of Sciences, National Academy of Engineering, and National Academy of Medicine work together as the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine to provide independent, objective analysis and advice to the nation and conduct other activities to solve complex problems and inform public policy decisions. The National Academies also encourage education and research, recognize outstanding contributions to knowledge, and increase public understanding in matters of science, engineering, and medicine.
Founded in 1964, the National Academy of Engineering is a private, independent, nonprofit institution that provides engineering leadership in service to the nation. The mission of the NAE is to advance the well-being of the nation by promoting a vibrant engineering profession and by marshalling the expertise and insights of eminent engineers to provide independent advice to the federal government on matters involving engineering and technology.
Under direct supervision or clearly defined procedures, performs a variety of clerical and secretarial duties such as scanning, mailing and filing correspondence. Maintains simple spreadsheets, records and electronic files, answers phone and greets visitors. Assists with preparation for meetings such as reserving conference rooms, preparing materials. Prepares receipts and TERs for reconciliation.
