Summary

PenFed is hiring a Marketing Manager in Mclean, Virginia. The primary responsibility of this role will be to serve as gatekeeper for quality and consistency with PenFed’s Marketing efforts. The Marketing Manager will review all Marketing and Communication materials to ensure that they conform to PenFed’s brand, voice and standards while also reviewing for grammar, spelling, usage and style. This individual will be instrumental in ensuring all Marketing pieces conform to the PenFed Brand.

 

Essential Functions

    Proofread all Marketing and Communication content across all channels, prior to final review by Compliance. Act as intermediary between Marketing Department and its agencies and Compliance. Ensure all content flows for readability and provide feedback and suggestions to the Content Writers or Creative Services for revisions. Become well-versed in legal compliance issues for Financial Institutions. Develop and manage proofing process for all materials with document procedures. Create and develop monthly Creative Reviews for Marketing Team. Develop and manage a routine for reviewing all inflight content. Work with cross functional teams and internal product owners to determine direction, as needed throughout the review process. Keep and maintain records of finalized, approved and deployed materials. Manage other copyeditors and reviewers throughout the review process. Support content writers and non-designed creation requests as needed.
 

Education and Experience

Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

    Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, Marketing or a related field is required. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in similar role Solid understanding of advertising, marketing and brand voice. Outstanding eye for detail and command of English grammar and punctuation. Familiarity with a variety of style guides such as AP, APA, AMA and Chicago. Strong critical thinking skills. Ability to work quickly and accurately under deadline pressure. Strong MS Word skills and experience with Adobe Acrobat Must be a self-starter with extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite. Graphic design skills and experience with CRM systems are a plus. Positive and active approach to address unexpected hurdles, competing ideas, difficult feedback, decision-making within ambiguity, and other challenges.
 

Supervisory Responsibility

    This position will supervise employees.
 

Licenses and Certifications

    There are no additional certifications required.
 

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.

 

Travel

Local travel to various worksites is required.
