Job Description:
We are seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for our Cardiac Medicine IMCU at Sentara Heart Hospital. This position is full-time 40 hours a week.

What you will do:
    Work schedule: Monday - Friday 8am to 4:30pm. No holidays, weekends or on call. Highly desire candidates to have 2 years of cardiac nursing experience. Provides patient teaching and education to our cardiac medicine population. Must be highly knowledge in heart failure and stemi's. This is not a staff educator position.Prefer BSN applicants.Our unit has 24-beds and comes with state of the art technology.

The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

BSN or MSN highly preferred. Highly desire RN applicants to have 2 year of cardiac experience and be knowledgeable in heart failure as this position will be teaching patient education. Meets and maintains any requirements defined by specific specialty; Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire; All Direct Care RN's required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.
