Assistant Director for Program Operations, Executive MBA Program - Division of Student Affairs

The Assistant Director for Program Operations oversees all administrative and operational activities related to the successful execution of the two-year Executive MBA (EMBA) Program for executive cohorts of up to 120 participants whose experience ranges from mid-level managers to CEOs and high­ level political appointees who reside both domestically and internationally. Reporting to the Senior Assistant Dean, Executive Degree Programs, the Assistant Director for Program Operations has additional responsibilities that include but are not limited to:

EMBA

  • Manages pre-program and orientation programs and briefings, domestic and international residencies, faculty coordination, technical application development and management, alumni- and community-networking activities, graduation planning and ceremonies.
  • Ensures the timely delivery of high quality educational materials and support to students by interacting with faculty as needed to obtain materials and managing the program-specific pages on Blackboard/Canvas/OrgSync and the web.

Program Quality for EMBA and Customized Corporate Programs

  • Across all program activities, monitors program quality and identifies opportunities for improvement, and develops and implements new and improved high-quality services and programs.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Academic Affairs to tailor and deliver student surveys of program quality.
  • Interacts with current students and faculty to gain their feedback, analyzing their input to develop specific actions for program improvement.
  • Maintains a consistent presence for on-campus programs, serving as the point-person with Director of Program Development for the duration of the EMBA Program.
  • Works with the Assistant Dean and other McDonough School of Business and Georgetown offices to develop and implement programs for executive program alumni communication and involvement.

Recruitment

  • Works cooperatively with Directors/Managers of Marketing, Program Development, Academic Affairs and Admissions to target and recruit well-qualified, seasoned executives for the EMBA program.
  • Assists in marketing the programs, including input on current marketing materials and websites.

Budget Management

  • Monitors and adheres to the Executive MBA budgets for program delivery, while investigating and developing new contracting relationships.
  • Collaborates with the Assistant Dean to develop one- and three-year budget forecasts for the EMBA program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 years of managerial/administrative experience in a professional setting, planning and managing mission-critical services and managing budget - preferably in managing executive degree programs
  • Confidence in working with a large institution IT environment and an understanding and working with financial plans
  • Proficiency in functioning independently and with complete discretion with student information that is both highly confidential and protected by law
  • Extremely high level of attention to detail and organizational skills
  • High level of customer service and appreciation of cultural differences in social and professional environments
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Familiarity with PowerPoint and Word
  • Operating experience with Blackboard and OrgSync
  • Willingness and availability to work during weekends when necessary
