Laboratory Avionics Technician
Schedule AWL lab users, configure avionics labs in accordance with schedules, test lab setups prior to use, perform scheduled and unscheduled lab maintenance in support of the China Lake F/A-18 Advanced Weapons Laboratory (AWL).
Essential Job Functions:
Provide user assistance during lab sessions.
Troubleshoot lab systems in event of failure and be able to repair to restore functionality.
Perform preventative maintenance on avionics and weapons integration lab equipment.
Evaluate, specify, order, acceptance test, configure and maintain AWL equipment.
Assist in tracking calibration items using in-house procedures and data bases.Requirements
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Must be able to be granted a security clearance and maintain one for the duration of employment.
High School graduate or equivalent with 7 years of relevant experience or have completed Class A School for Aviation and have 5 years of relevant experience.
USN Aviation Electricians or Aviation Electronic Technicians, or equivalent training.
Completed USN Class C School in electrical or electronics repair (36 months O-Level electrical or avionics experience may be substituted for the Class C school).
Must have a valid driver's license.
Must be available to work any shift.
24 months of F/A-18 O-Level Avionics/Electrician experience; 12 within past 36 months.
