Job Description Raytheon has an immediate need for a Network Engineer in support of the Cybersecurity & Special Missions (CSM) group, providing cybersecurity and advanced intelligence solutions that strengthen our global customers' critical infrastructures, information systems and mission.The Network Engineer shall perform a full range of complex network designs encompassing multiple technologies within a single network; performing a full range of upgrades to the existing network architecture, and performing long term sustainment and maintenance to include troubleshooting and problem resolution.A Current/Active TS/SCI with FS Poly is required and must be cross over eligible.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Evaluate new network technologies and make recommendations to project managers regarding the integration of these technologies into the existing network.Plan new configurations for integration into the network, using knowledge of performance characteristics of the systems being added to the network and the specifications for network interfaces to insure effective integration and optimal network performance.Prepare technical proposals for presentation to the SponsorA cents € (TM) s engineering review boards for adding new technologies to the network.Perform enterprise network configuration and maintenance as it relates to Cisco, Juniper, etc. network components; network encryption devices; and computer workstations and servers.Configure, troubleshoot and design Cisco routers (or other vendor) and multilayer switches.Design and plan network communications systems; plan and formulate engineering program.Support the programA cents € (TM) s senior leadership personnel and manage small projects from inception to completion including technical assessments, architectural design and planning, integration, testing, and implementation.Diagnose network failures and take appropriate steps to promptly repair or restore services.Prepare a network monitoring and disaster recovery plan for Sponsor networks.Conduct continuous monitoring and testing of network designs.Create Layer 2/Layer3 provisioning and configuration control board documentation.Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.Conduct network topology surveys.Minimum Mandatory Qualifications: Minimum of seven (7) yearsA cents € (TM) experience in network configuration and maintenance as it relates to network components, network encryption devices, and computer workstation and server networking.Advanced understanding of networking systems and TCP/IP to include experience in IP addressing and subnetting, network address translation, MTU and QoS.Strong knowledge of routing and switching systems (Cisco preferred), routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP), and gateway redundancy protocols (HSRP, VRRP, and GLRP); to include troubleshooting issues with these protocols.Demonstrated knowledge of multicast, virtual LANs, trunking, network security appliances, SONET, ATM, MPLS and POS.Experience supporting the full engineering lifecycle.Required Education / Experience: Ten (10) or more years of related experience (Minimum of seven (7) yearsA cents € (TM) experience in network configuration and maintenance as it relates to network components, network encryption devices, and computer workstation and server networking).Bachelor's degree in Math, Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline is required Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services delivers innovative technology to make the world a safer place.
