MTEQ is seeking Electro-Mechanical Assemblers/Technicians with extensive knowledge and strong communication skills to join our team of well qualified, diverse individuals at our Lorton, VA Office. The Electro-Mechanical Assembler role is a significant contributor to our military-grade sensor equipment assembly and prototyping operations, responsible for assembling complex A cents € oeBlack BoxA cents € systems. In order to assemble the systems, the associate may first fabricate cable harnesses, integrate the harnesses with Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) and other electronic devices, then will install all components into final product. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Fabricate cables (cut, strip wire, crimp and solder connections, clean, apply labels/marking), complex electro-mechanical assemblies and performance of testing procedures Be familiar and utilize assembly and measuring tools, interpret drawings and visual aids, be able to perform simple shop math. Maintain work areas neat and organized, records complete and accurate. Must have good written and oral communication skills. Other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Electronics Technical certifications and/or AS in Electronics preferred One or more years of relevant working experience. Experience with building electro-mechanical box assemblies, flexible cable assemblies and/or a rigid T/C assembies, bulk cables, cut and strip wires, pot, crimp, cleaning operations, marking operations and testing. Experience with environmental testing procedures Ability to use and familiarity with assembly and measuring tools, interpreting visual aids and must be able to perform simple shop math. ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: 3-5 years of related experience. Obtain IPC-620 certification. Training and testing conducted by MTEQ. Excellent technical writing, documentation and communication skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, in particular Excel). PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally bend and move about the facility. Must be able to lift up to 25lbs.
