Job DescriptionWe are seeking a plumbing engineer or designer with 2-5 years of experience in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) Industry to join our team located in Baltimore, MD. At BKM, our design work is primarily for renovation, addition, and new construction projects in the education, government, commercial, healthcare, and science & technology market sectors.Reports to: Project Engineer or Project Manager Responsibilities: Meets with the Project Engineer and the Project Team Leader to discuss design scope, schedule, budget, phasing, site issues, and design review issues.Coordinates engineering designs with other project team members.Recommends a selection of basic fixtures, equipment, and systems.Implements system types as selected by the Project Engineer and provide complete construction documents that match the client and project teams requirements.Reviews preliminary and final design with other disciplines for function, clearances, coordination, and final design selection.Performs other duties assigned by a Project Engineer or Project Manager. Candidate Requirements:Associates Degree in related field, 2-year technical degree, or bachelor's degree 2-5 years of experience in the AEC industry or other experience related to plumbing/mechanical engineering and HVAC systems CertifiedPlumbing Designer (CPD) designation preferred; or willingness to become certified and utilize trainingPE License or EIT Certification ; or willingness to pursue EIT or PE licenseExpertise in computer operation for engineering design programs (ie Revit, AutoCAD) preferred Understanding of applicable design codes and specification requirementsWorks well with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)Other Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong verbal communications skills Professionalism when corresponding and working with owners/clients, architects, and project consultantsExcellent organization and time management skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Able to effectively prioritize multiple tasks when assigned to various projectsEffective working individually and within team environments Company DescriptionBKM is a well-established, growth-oriented m/e/p engineering firm located in Baltimore County.
