This is a great opportunity for a leader looking to build a team and operation that will create lifelong customers with exceptional service.A cents € We are seeking a Diesel Shop Manager (titled: Service Manager) to be the leader in helping our customer's succeed by leading a team of mechanics that ensure our customizes optimize their vehicle investments.Position Overview:Service Manager to oversee a team of heavy equipment mechanics performing diagnostics, repair and preventive maintenance on vehicles as needed in the most effective and cost-efficient way possible to avoid down time. Service Manager must have experience as a mechanic and willing to service vehicles when needed. The Service Manager will manage the servicing of company and customer equipment in a timely and effective manner. This is a skilled mechanic management role; it is not a sales based role.Position Responsibilities:A cents € cents Manages the repair and maintenance of customer owned assets (vehicles and equipment with diesel and/or gas engines)A cents € cents Organize the repair shop for maximum efficiency. Order tools and equipment as needed to in accordance with industry best practicesA cents € cents Prepares work schedules and handles service calls to meet customer needs and assure that equipment is available as requiredA cents € cents Orders parts in order to maintain adequate suppliesA cents € cents Provides training and assistance to techniciansA cents € cents Works with equipment vendors to learn the maintenance requirements and capabilities of new equipment added to inventoryA cents € cents Evaluates all vehicles and equipment after repairs, maintenance or safety checks.A cents € cents Handles customer complaintsA cents € cents Promote safety awarenessA cents € cents Inspects company vehicles for readinessA cents € cents Update, maintain and keep organized service recordsA cents € cents Create, update, close and bill work ordersA cents € cents File warranty claims in a timely fashion.A cents € cents Order parts, return parts, and perform parts inventoryA cents € cents Disposal of Solid and Hazardous Material Waste (Batteries, used oil & filters, antifreeze, wash sludge)A cents € cents Reporting to include: - Vehicles due for service - Fleet status Reporting - Equipment Service Record Reporting - Open work order report - Warranty claim summary report - Inventory management - Parts & merchandise detail reporting - Shop foreman performance tool - Work order charge back - Halt report - Open PO report - Tech paid hours vs. worked hour reportA cents € cents Perform other duties assigned as assigned by the managerPosition Qualifications:A cents € cents Valid driverA cents € (TM) s licenseA cents € cents Extensive experience in the repair and maintenance of diesel and gasoline enginesA cents € cents Knowledge of work planning and scheduling and other supervisory activitiesA cents € cents Strong understanding of equipment capabilities and safety requirements.A cents € cents Clear perspective on maintenance and repair issues in the industryA cents € cents Planning and management experienceA cents € cents Computer literacyA cents € cents Reporting experienceA cents € cents Inventory management experienceA cents € cents Relevant experience includes construction equipment mechanic, crane mechanic, diesel technician, hydraulic technician, rental equipment mechanic, shop foreman, shop supervisor, or similar role preferredA cents € cents Personal and professional integrity.Physical Requirements:A cents € cents Ability to read and respond to common inquiries from customers and/or employees.A cents € cents Ability to communicate equipment issues and understand job assignments.A cents € cents Ability to prioritize work assignments.A cents € cents Ability to effectively and safely use mechanicA cents € (TM) s tools and equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment problems.A cents € cents Must be physically able to work in a job site environment to include lifting up to 70lbs, bending, squatting, crouching, and reachingA cents € cents Must be physically able to work in weather conditions including heavy rain, wind or excessive temperaturesCompany DescriptionCarter Fleet Services (CFS) is a mobile fleet services company that provides onsite DOT, repairs, service and maintenace to vehicles.
