Job DescriptionThe Accounting Manager is responsible for assisting the Property Manager, Senior Property Manager, Executive Property Manager and other Senior Management staff with financial operations of a multi-site portfolio.Essential FunctionsResponsible for ensuring that the accounting reporting calendar is followed and that all reports are run and/or submitted on time.Utilizes YARDI to produce the company's required reports, generate Invoice Batch Cover Sheets, and enter accounts payable (A/P) and revenue collected; manages the retention of these records.Reviews and analyzes general ledger balances and prepare journal entries.Coordinates all reporting to the Regional Vice President, Senior Vice President, corporate offices, owners, lenders, and any other agencies as necessary.Assists the Property Manager, Senior Property Manger and/or Executive Property Manager with payroll functions.Maintaining daily records of work time for the office staff, including sick time and overtime.Obtaining the records of hours worked by the maintenance staff from the Superintendent at the end of each week.Posting all rental collections, charges and adjustments to YARDI.Preparing and sending appropriate back up to Corporate Accounting.Posting all payables to YARDI.Posting all account receivables from residents, local housing authorities, and other groups paying on behalf of residents.Provides copies of the end of the month report and other accounting-related monthly and quarterly reports to the Property Manager, Senior Property Manager, Executive Property Manager, and owners.Assists with calculating and issuing security deposit refunds to residents.Works with vendors concerning outstanding bills. This includes researching invoices to determine when/if checks were sent to the vendors or if invoices must be resubmitted.Completes or coordinates the completion of monthly bank reconciliations to make sure all prior month deposits were made to the correct site bank account; ensures that there are no outstanding bank-related issues. Provides an additional layer of financial review and works closely with the Portfolio Controller to identify and enter Data Processing Errors monthly.Completes or coordinates the completion of portfolio financial summary reports and other multi-site summary reports.Perform other responsibilities as determined by the Property Manager and other Senior Management.Job RequirementsHigh School Diploma/GED Equivalent required; BA/BS in Business or related field preferredMust have at least 3-5 years of experience in AccountingProficient in MS Office; Previous Yardi experience is a plusCompany DescriptionWinnCompanies is a fast-growing, award-wining housing development and property management company with 3,000 team members working in 22 states and the District of Columbia.
