Project Analyst (Weekly Travel to Washington, DC)
Job DescriptionRoleXyster Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Project Analyst for an engagement based in Washington, DC This is a full-time (2 to 5 years of relevant experience) and client-facing role that reports to the Xyster Program Manager. Applicants must be willing to travel to the client location at Washington, DC on a weekly basis.At Xyster, the Project Analyst analyzes, documents, measures and tracks the requirements and progress of a project throughout its lifecycle, helping ensure the project team achieves its objectives within scope, schedule and budget. The Project Analyst is involved in a broad spectrum of work required to support a large project teams consisting of multiple functional tracks.ResponsibilitiesThe Project Analyst is not expected to have prior knowledge of the project domain; however, he/she must have an interest in honing the below set of competencies:Work with key business stakeholders to analyze, define and document project requirements and business processesCoordinate project activities including corresponding with the client, scheduling or participating in meetings, or tracking project action items (meeting minutes, meeting follow-up, issues tracking, etc.)Assist the Program Manager with preparing high-level and detailed project plans through flowcharts, project planning software, etc.Actively manage the project calendar and resource schedulesMonitor progress against project plans, develop presentations, communicate status to project teams and key stakeholders on a frequent basisCoordinate with cross functional teams and business stakeholders at various stages of project development, including development, testing and implementationRequirementsWillingness to travel to the client location (Washington, DC) on a weekly basis2 to 5 years of experience working as a Business/Project Analyst role. Prior consulting experience preferred, but not requiredStrong quantitative and qualitative analytical skillsCompetent at meeting tight deadlines, performing high-quality work and diligent follow upExcellent, concise written and verbal communication skillsPrior customer service/client facing role highly desiredAdept at summarizing and concluding activities, applying appropriate documentation standardsKnowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), willingness to obtain advanced proficiencyKnowledge of Microsoft Project, Visio, SharePoint and/or willingness to obtain advanced proficiencyEducationUndergraduate degree in any discipline (technology background preferred) Company DescriptionXyster Consulting manages complex IT initiatives that transform enterprise organizations.
