Plant Accounting Manager
Subsidiary: AZZ Enclosure Systems JOB PURPOSE: The Plant Accounting Manager is responsible for the day to day accounting activities and supporting plant operations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (other duties may be assigned): Responsible for processing daily production transactions to support Job Costs, WIP and Inventory, Customer Invoices and Accounts Receivable. Maintain transaction records and support. Timely processing of monthly transactions and ensure data integrity. Timely closing of all Oracle modules to meet or exceed organizational timelines. Reconciliations of various accounts. Assign GL codes to non-PO transactions. Create, document and post month end journal entries. Verify actual production costs to variance analysis. Daily plant reporting including KPI's. Audit BOM's and job cost analysis. Inventory control and variance analysis. Insure data integrity of material, labor and overhead within Oracle. Provide financial support for plant activities such as cost reduction initiatives, Kaizen events and other similar activities. Assist in the preparation of forecasts and the annual budget. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (if applicable): Accounts payable and/or receivables personnel as applicable. QUALIFICATIONS: Equipment Used: Operates basic office equipment. Certificates, licenses, and registrations: Accounting degree required. Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, and reporting. Knowledge of manufacturing costing and systems. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Working knowledge of large ERP systems such as Oracle or the equivalent. Strong transaction and project focus. Education/Experience: BS in Finance, Accounting or similar field required. A minimum 2 experience in manufacturing accounting. Language Skills: Advanced oral and written comprehension and expression skills. Ability to actively listen to others and effectively convey information to all levels of employees including senior management. Reasoning Ability: Inductive and deductive reasoning, selective attention, sound judgment and decision making. Ability to evaluate and analyze data and use critical thinking to solve problems and recognize potential problems. Attendance Requirement: Normal business hours as required by Company policy and as required to achieve departmental objective. Travel Requirement: Domestic may be required. Physical Demands: Frequent standing/sitting, bending, stooping, lifting less than 25 pounds. Must be able to see at close range, perform repetitive hand/arm motions. Must be able to walk up and down stairs. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Primarily air conditioned office.
