Medmarc, a ProAssurance Company, is looking for a Manager of Accounting Operations to work out of our Chantilly, VA office. The primary responsibility of the Manager of Accounting Operations is to direct, coordinate, maintain, and control an accounting system that properly reflects the financial position of the Company. This position will monitor policies and procedures, recommend improvements, consult with the CFO and Controller in establishing major goals and objectives, and serve as a key resource for all aspects of accounting operations. It will ensure accurate internal and external recording and reporting of financial transactions, oversee cash and investments, general ledger, billing, accounts payable and receivable, fixed asset management, troubleshoot and solve discrepancies and initiate corrective measures, and ensure that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal, regulatory, and Company procedures. This position will also assign, direct, and appraise accounting operations staff. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 5 years of progressive hands-on accounting supervisory experience Strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and banking working knowledge Understanding of governmental regulations, reporting requirements, and generally accepted accounting principles CPA and public accounting experience is desired Ability to communicate effectively and professional both verbally and in writing with various constituencies at all levels; both in and outside of the organization Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications and accounting software system Ability to maintain high level confidential information
