The Payroll Supervisor oversees the weekly payroll process. Maintains a close working relationship with company ADP representative to ensure all tax payment and filing issues are resolved in a timely manner. Ensures calculations, withholding and deductions associated with payrolls are processed in accordance with State, Federal, and local laws and regulations. Ensures payroll records are accurate and conveys matters of concern or interest to the Payroll Director and\or Manager. Leads by example and assists with training of team members. Communicates professionally and maintains confidentiality, while handling sensitive situations. Job Responsibilities:* Coordinates and monitors weekly payroll processing including and the transfer of hours from Time & Attendance into the payroll system.* Coordinates processing of various special payments, bonuses and PTO. * Audits wages and processes, as needed.* Prepares and reviews funding documents, as needed.* Produces and maintain ad-hoc reports and/or spreadsheets.* Reconciles weekly and quarterly tax withholdings to ADP invoices. Resolve all discrepancies between amounts withheld and amount reported and paid by ADP.* Assists in the preparation and balancing of W-2s.* Creates, develops and updates payroll training materials and presentations.* Ensures open communication between Payroll, HR, Benefits and other departments.* Assists with special projects such as software upgrades and implementation of new functionality. Leadership:* Communicate, coordinate and guide managers, supervisors or other assigned timekeepers through the payroll activities necessary to ensure the timely processing of the payroll.* Assist with implementing changes to work assignments and procedures in order to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the payroll department.* Assist and\or oversee the development of Training materials and Training for end users.* Provide guidance and share knowledge with team members.* Fill in for Payroll Supervisor and Coordinators, as needed, and ensure payroll team's work load is appropriate.* Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations and decrease turnaround times. Work cooperatively in order to provide quality and seamless customer service.Skills/Requirements:* Minimum of 8 years of payroll experience.* Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred.* Solid knowledge of State, Federal and local laws and regulations related to payroll, including reporting requirements such as 941s and W-2s.* Strong knowledge of most payroll practices, including FLSA and Wage and Hour Law regulations. Multi-state payroll processing experience preferred.* Intermediate skill level in using Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook), HRIS, Payroll and Time & Attendance systems.
