Field Technician-Full Time-Baltimore Service Center
Assists with routine and non-routine sampling, monitoring, and data collection activities in support of environmental monitoring programs.Prepares sampling supplies for clients, picks up and ships client samples. 1. Collects, documents, packages, and ships samples in accordance with appropriate project-specific sampling and analysis plans/protocols. 2. Assists with routine and non-routine data collection activities for environmental monitoring programs, which may involve hazardous material/waste project sites. 3. Assists with routine sample preparation and/or analyses, generally on site, in support of mobile laboratory operations or screening surveys. 4. Completes documents and is responsible for quality control of all assignments. 5. Follows and enforces company health and safety policies. Education Bachlor degree and/or background in sciences are preferred. May require training in site remediation and hazard protection. Experience On-the-job training will be provided. Materials and Equipment Used * Field sampling equipment * Field analytical instrumentation * Calculator * Personal Computer Physical Requirements: Bending and lifting are frequently completed for moving sample bottles and to lift equipment (up to 50 pounds) will be necessary. Field environment requires the ability to work outdoors under a wide variety of conditions and may involve a high degree of physical activity. Assignments are generally in the field on client sites. Frequent local travel is required, and overnight travel is possible, depending on project assignments. Some work projects may require on-call status including weekends and holidays. This position may occassionally require working for extended periods of time (up to 21 days) at remote sites in order to complete a field project.
