The Financial Analyst will be a key member of TEGNA's financial planning, reporting and analysis team. The team supports executive leadership and provides reporting for the Board of Directors and investors. This position will focus on explaining the business drivers to all constituents. Reports will include monthly/quarterly board reporting, investor relations reports and ad hoc operational analyses as needed. Additionally, this position will help manage the business's fastest-growing revenue line-item. This position is based at the company headquarters in McLean, VA. Responsibilities:Understand the relevant business metrics and drivers, and ensure TEGNA's financial performance is aligned with them.Prepare and support monthly and quarterly reporting and presentations for the executive leadership team, Board of Directors and investors.Assist in creating and maintaining inventory of financial reports and presentations, including preparing the company's long-range strategic plan.Prepare peer benchmarking to Broadcast and Media companies to understand TEGNA's market position relative to our peer group.Prepare additional ad hoc financial analysis for strategic business decision making, with a focus on high-level negotiations. Requirements:3-7 years of finance experience in a public company; FP&A specific experience a plus.BS/BA Degree; MBA, CFA or CPA preferred.Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint presentation skills required.Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with well-developed analytical capabilities.Must have the highest standards of accuracy, organization and precision and the ability to think creatively and strategically while acting tactically.Must be able to think beyond just "reporting" the numbers and effectively present the "why" behind the financials.Demonstrated ability to establish positive relationships and work effectively with all internal and external constituencies.Team player with the ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities and rapid changes is essential.Knowledge and experience with ERP systems, visualization and BI tools (ie SAP, Hyperion, Tableau) is a plus.About TEGNA: TEGNA Inc.
