The Mission of Marsh & McLennan's Government Relations team is simple: Advance the Company's public policy interests. We collaborate with business leaders to determine our priorities; engage with lawmakers and regulators to educate them about these issues; and align industry trade associations and allies into coalition partners to broaden the Company's influence. We work to advance policymakers' understanding of the issues that impact our businesses, by introducing officials in Washington and other legislative capitals to our company's capabilities. Responsibilities: Research public policy issues and write abstracts as requested Assist in researching content for white papers developed by the team Assist with Lobbying and FEC filing requirements Provide administrative support in coordinating calls and meetings for the team Review periodicals from congressional subscriptions for relevant and timely content Assist with maintaining the department's fundraising database Maintain highest ethical standards and confidences Qualifications Have completed their sophomore year in college Can work part-time in our Washington DC Office during the Spring semester Demonstrated commitment to governmental affairs Proven knowledge of Congressional members or other local and national government figures Strong communications skills Extraordinary attention to detail Strong time-management skills and ability to uphold deadlines Solid computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required Marsh & McLennan Companies is a global professional services firm offering clients advice and solutions in the areas of risk, strategy and people.
