Vice President, Preconstruction & Virtual ConstructionHITT Contracting Inc. has an immediate need for a Vice President of Preconstruction & Virtual Construction. This individual will provide the highest level of preconstruction operations, strategy and leadership and will be an integral part of HITT's strategic initiatives. This individual leads, develops, and manages the operation and implementation of established preconstruction standards and processes for the department staff and will proactively manage the coordination, fabrication and onsite execution during the preconstruction project phases.With a volume of over $2B in bids annually the Vice President has overall oversight and leadership of roughly 20 individuals across Bidding Services, Preconstruction and Virtual Construction. The Vice President reports to the Executive Vice President. Visible Leadership & Communication- is routinely communicating and driving our company and department visions in a clear and positive manner, adjusting style and delivery as appropriateStrategic Orientation - thinks and plans at the highest level and works across the company to develop goals and plans to support HITT's strategic directionTalent Management Expertise - demonstrated ability to attract, select, develop, and retain top talentIdea Creation - routinely generates new solutions or changes to existing solutions to better meet the needs of the business or to capitalize on an opportunityPassion - generates consistent positive energy felt by those around themTeamwork - is able to work collaboratively with individuals of varying styles and backgrounds ResponsibilitiesPrepare and lead Preconstruction strategy meetings to collaborate on project approach and estimating.Prepare detailed budget estimates (conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction)Proactively anticipate and identify risk factors and advise senior leadership on every project and bid that goes through the Preconstruction departmentStrategize with Operations team on Indirect Costs (general conditions, fee, contingency, insurance, bonds, and special project-specific requirements)Prepare and analyze cost models at various phases of the design.Remaining current on changes and trends in methods of construction and materials, construction costs, wage rates, fringe benefits, insurance and bonding requirements, and building codes (especially as it relates to Green Building and Energy codes)Create and update a master budget template annually and a master pricing database quarterlyEstablish and enforce standard operating process for budgets and competitive bidsPresent budget estimates to clientsProvide value added services to clients to include system studies, industry trends, and value analysisStrengthen client relationships during preconstruction phase by proactively engaging and maintaining those relationships. Strengthen subcontractor relationshipsRecruit, retain, train and develop staffEffective and timely project turnover to Construction Operations Team;Ensure on-time start for all negotiated projectsManage departmental budget and assist in developing and achieving annual strategic initiativesServe on committees for corporate enhancementCollaborate with Operations and Business Development to meet organizational needs/goals; and Participate in Business Development meetings and presentations and Industry Association events like WBC, ABC, AGC, DCBIA, and NAIOP.QualificationsMaster's degree preferred (foreign equivalent degrees accepted) in Architecture, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field15+ years of experience in any related occupation in a project management or estimation role working within complex commercial projects.Must possess LEED Accredited Professional CertificationWill utilize knowledge of 3D, 4D, and 5D BIM (Building Information Modeling), MS Office, On-Screen Take-Off, AutoCAD (2D)Superior verbal and written communication skillsHITT Contracting Inc. is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer - Minorities/Females /Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities.
