Scope of PositionThe marketing communications strategist role supports the development and execution of strategic marketing programs. This position works with the marketing communications manager to drive the creation of external messaging across a variety of mediums. The role partners with company leadership, subject matter experts (SMEs), the marketing communications manager and marketing leadership (when applicable), and internal staff to develop compelling materials including, but not limited to: case studies, collateral, blog articles, event materials, presentations, advertisements and web copy used to showcase TEKsystems' capabilities, promote brand awareness, support sales cycles and drive business development efforts.ResponsibilitiesCollateral:Collaborates with SMEs to write copy for external-facing brochures, informational slicks and sales presentationsManages documented timelines / project plans to include: SME interviews, creation of content, alignment of existing messaging, coordination with design team, facilitation of review and approval cycles, and finalization of end document Ensures collateral provides the audience with insights into market trends, services offered, delivery models, key differentiators and the value proposition that each business area offers to clientsEnsures final materials are within brand and compliant with our internal style guide Case Studies:Prepares external-facing case studies on a quarterly and ad-hoc basisManages the entire case study production process and associated timelinesConducts interviews with relevant stakeholders to fully understand project drivers, client pain points, solutions and benefits achievedManages all associated edits from SMEs and stakeholders, and works with our internal design team to ensure content is formatted within brand Website Content:Writes, edits and proofreads online copy for our external website, presenting company capabilities in a compelling and concise mannerPartners with colleagues to ensure content addresses our various brand personas and meets SEO best practicesDevelops relevant story ideas and creates associated articles for the corporate blogCollaborates with our web team to optimize site content to stay current with content marketing best practices and industry trends External Outreach:Supports marketing's events and public relations teams in writing and editing content for sponsored events and PR campaignsSupports major research projects by working with internal stakeholders and marketing teams to develop white papers, infographics and executive summaries-building outlines and integrating research-with support from the marketing communications managerWorks with the design team to develop concepts and draft scripts for videos aligned to major research projects and other marketing initiativesPartners with the design team to develop copy and concepts for advertising requests Editing and Message Alignment:Follows AP Style and our internal style guide to copy edit a variety of materials upon requestEdits nonmarketing stakeholders as needed for grammar, messaging and flowEnsures external communications and all marketing materials are consistent with TEKsystems' brand and messaging guidelinesRequired Qualifications3-5 years of corporate marketing experience; ie, branding, messaging and competitive positioning3-5 years of professional writing/editing experience; ie, collateral, case studies, web copyStrong organizational, project management and analytical skillsExcellent written and oral communication skillsDetail orientedDemonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and timelines effectivelyProven ability to interface/collaborate with multiple stakeholdersWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PPTBachelor's degree in related field
