Job Description “Looking to move from the big city to a growing metropolitan area? “ A new and upcoming fine dining restaurant, nestled on the corner of a historic revitalized cigar factory, is set to open at the end of 2017, in the growing city of Lancaster. The fine dining restaurant will feature American Cuisine with a French Influence. We are seeking a professional, outgoing, and guest-centric Fine Dining General Manager to join our team now, in preparation for the restaurant's grand opening. The General Manager is an integral contributor to the overall success of the location including; the restaurant, the bar and private dining space. The General Manager will direct, coordinate and plan the organization of all food and beverage while working alongside the Executive Chef in order to ensure consistency, budget control, quality of service and product. The General Manager will have a proven ability to lead a team and direct the vision of the highest quality operation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: · Achieving the highest service standards and exceeding a high guest expectation daily · In conjunction with the FOH/BOH management teams, accomplish human resources objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, assigning, scheduling, and reviewing staff · Effectively enforce company policies and procedures · Achieve operational objectives of all outlets by preparing and completing action plans, implementing productivity, quality and standards of service · Resolve associate and/or guest conflict through service recovery and implement change when necessary · Communicate with the BOH Management Team to control costs by reviewing portion control and quantities of preparation, minimizing waste · Estimate food and beverage consumption and place orders with suppliers · Maintain budget and employee records · Prepare payroll and monitor records · Avoid legal challenges by following all company and government legislations · Arrange for maintenance and repair of malfunctioned equipment · Develop managers and staff by ensuring regular one-on-ones, training and development, coaching and performance evaluations · Create an engaging and energetic environment where all associates work as a team · Generate growth and restaurant sales through marketing initiatives Skills & Competencies: · Proficient in all aspects of fine dining service. · Proficient in all aspects of cost control. · Effective style of management, promoting a team atmosphere. · Ability to inspire staff to achieve their potential. · Have a good understanding of food handling and sanitation requirements of the Department of Health. · Possess a proven track record for guest satisfaction. · Ability to multi-task, and change priorities constantly, as needed in a fast-paced environment · Ability to conduct written and verbal performance reviews · Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as exceptional organizational skills Minimum Education & Experience · Must have a minimum of 5-8 years' experience as a General Manager in an upscale or fine dining environment · Have knowledge of service and food & beverage operations, involving at least three years of front-of-the-house & back-of-the-house operations and/or assistant management positions. · Post-secondary Degree/Diploma in Hospitality Management, Food and Beverage Management and/or equivalent, is preferred Environmental Working Conditions · Must have flexible availability on nights and weekends · Be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 lbs. · FOH highly professional environment Competitive salary and generous benefits offered Company Description A new and upcoming fine dining restaurant, nestled on the corner of a historic revitalized cigar factory, is set to open near the end of 2017, in the growing city of Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
