Summary RS Plan Representative-P3 The RS Plan Representative is responsible for providing professional, quality guidance and insight to NRECA members with regard to the defined benefit plan (the Retirement Security Plan) and the defined contribution plan ( the 401(k) Pension Plan). This individual leads the effort to design, produce and interpret defined benefit plan proposals and Special Early Retirement Programs (SERPs) at the request of NRECAA cents € (TM) s members. In addition, this role provides guidance to our membership with regard to the adoption of or modifications to defined benefit plans and, to a lesser degree, defined contribution plans. Purpose and Mission Acts as primary contact with regard to Retirement Security Plan (A cents € oeRS PlanA cents € ) proposals. Works with colleagues from the Actuarial, Legal and Compliance units to provide the best retirement program alternatives for our membership. Provides special early retirement program (SERP) proposals and guidance to member cooperatives that are considering an offer of early retirement to participants in the RS Plan. Assists field staff in providing guidance and education to members contemplating participation in NRECAA cents € (TM) s RS and 401(k) plans. Guides members on the significant benefits and features of NRECAA cents € (TM) s retirement plans. Provides timely and accurate information through both formal and informal communications. Provides consultation to members regarding complex amendments to the RS Plan and the 401(k) Pension Plan. This includes plan amendments necessitated by restructuring, acquisition of a subsidiary, or changes in retirement programs due to new management philosophies. Prepares board resolutions, adoption agreements, 204(h) notices and other ERISA and DOL required documentation to assist members with successfully amending their retirement plans. The person who occupies this position has the responsibility for the proper security and disposal of any confidential information that he or she may possess in the course of performing this position's job duties, in accordance with NRECAA cents € (TM) s Personnel & Administrative Policy and HIPAA Privacy and Security Policies & Procedures Manuals. Requirements and Qualifications Bachelor's degree and professional designation as a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist, Certified Pension Consultant or other appropriate professional designation is required. 10 years of experience working in a consultative role with retirement plan clients. Knowledge of ERISA, IRS, PBGC and DOL regulations and laws related to the defined contribution and defined benefit plan administration as demonstrated by prior work experience. Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with a diverse membership, employees and/or vendors in a clear and precise manner as demonstrated by prior work experience. Ability to work with a wide variety of people to foster cooperation in sharing information and materials as demonstrated by prior work experience. Interpersonal skills, member service orientation and ability to work in a team environment as demonstrated by prior work experience. Ability to conceptualize, produce and disseminate high-quality materials as demonstrated by prior work experience. Ability to travel as demonstrated by prior work experience. Ability to work well within a team of professionals as demonstrated by prior work experience. Ability to use Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point) in the day-to-day essential duties of the job as demonstrated by prior work experience. Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change as demonstrate by prior work experience. Ability to listen and interprete the customerA cents € (TM) s needs, de-escalate difficult customer calls, while at the same time researching the issue and applying broad business and technical knowledge to meet the customerA cents € (TM) s satisfaction as demonstrated by prior work experience. Ability to operate various office equipment such as personal computer, copier, printer, fax machine or other job related equipment as demonstrated by prior work experience. Ability to develop and deliver presentations and training workshops as demonstrated by prior work experience. Ability to define issues, establish facts and draw valid conclusions and apply to work environment as demonstrated by prior work experience. ADA Requirements: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
