We have immediate openings for Practice Specialists to join our Law Firm Recruiting Group in Washington, DC. The Sourcing Specialist, known as a Practice Specialist at MLA, calls targeted Partner level attorney candidates to discuss a pre-determined law firm need. If interest in the position is uncovered an introduction to a recruiter is then made. The Practice Specialist will strategically source and begin the process of building long-term relationships with lawyers in the DC area. Responsibilities The Practice Specialist (PS) will collaborate and work closely with recruiters in our PPG team to determine the strategy for each call campaign. With an understanding of the strategy, the PS will conduct preliminary research to create a target list of attorneys. The PS makes cold and warm calls to these targets to build rapport and relationships, and ideally introduce interested candidates to a recruiter. The Practice Specialist schedules introductory meetings for recruiters, ensures follow-up actions are completed and records all data in our database. Major, Lindsey & Africa hires professionals of exceptional quality and professionalism. We are ideally looking for the following qualifications: BA/BS required and JD degree is preferred. Experience working in a large law firm, in-house law department, executive or legal recruiting firm. Sales experience is also desirable. Excellent research experience and skills. Proven project management experience and strong organizational abilities. Able to present a confident demeanor, a broad perspective and have the ability to listen. Willingness to reach out to candidates and prospective clients via both cold and warm calling. Comfortable and competent cold calling and working with senior level attorney candidates. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Outstanding writing skills. Self-directed with high energy and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Entrepreneurial, risk-positive spirit. Self-motivated with ability to balance multiple projects at the same time. Compensation is a competitive base salary plus commissions and full benefits.
