DescriptionCOMPANY is currently searching for qualified Vice President to join and lead our marketing sciences team. Ideally, this Vice President would be based in Washington, DC, but we are open to considering a base in one of our other office locations. Responsibilities will be generally divided into four broad areas:Lead and improve all marketing sciences-related client-facing work, including supporting internal and external new business development activities and acting as consultant and lead educator to client teams on advanced or complex analysesCoordinate and supervise the statistical analysis done by the marketing sciences team itself - being willing to "dig in" to the team's work when necessary and pitch in to assist newer or less experienced members of the teamPerform "hands on" execution of the more advanced research design and statistical analysis work and take the lead on establishing or growing relationships with external vendors or analysis providers as necessaryIntroduce cutting edge analytical methods to the firm's leadership team to expand COMPANY's capabilities and offerings and improve the team's ability to sell, manage, and promote those methods via education, mentorship, and coaching of VP peers across the firmQualificationsThe successful Vice President has proven achievement in the highest levels of market research and advanced analysis in a market or communications research organization, consulting firm, and/or in house marketing sciences team. The successful candidate will also have the following qualifications:A PhD in Statistics or related field (Behavioral Sciences, Marketing, Economics, Computational Sociology, etc.)8+ years of research design and statistical analysis experience in marketing research or academic research employing methods common to marketing researchStrong track record of success consulting with businesses, colleagues, and clients to address their challenges through statistical/analytical methods through educating and mentoringExperience managing a team to produce high-quality work on tight timelines with a continued focus on staff development and learning, at times from afarIdeal QualificationsIn addition, the successful candidate will ideally possess the following:Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to instill confidence, connect with staff at all levels, and showcase expertise without egoTrack record of success in growing client relationships, both internal and external, with some new business development exposureDetail orientation and an ability and willingness to do project work at all levels from a project's start to finish as required Passion for analytics, innovation, and educating both clients and project teamsDecisive and high-energy personality with an innate sense of urgencyComfort managing staff and clients during unexpected or challenging situations; ability to "walk in the gray"Aptitude for managing multiple projects under tight deadlines with efficient delegation to a teamInspired leadership of others, including success managing the skills and professional development of a team, with conscientious use of internal resources
