The portfolio of IT services provided by the Department of Justice (DOJ) Civil Division includes virtual server services for hosting applications, a virtual desktop infrastructure including zero/thin clients and desktop image development, file and print services, mobility services including device management, security services, network services including wireless and WAN connectivity and remote access, VoIP telephony and messaging services including instant messaging and email, storage area network services, data center management and business continuity/disaster recovery services. Iron Bow Systems Engineers will provide infrastructure and systems support to include, but not limited to, upgrades and changes to the system under the oversight of the government system owner. Additionally, as the needs of the Civil Division's customers evolve Iron Bow Systems Engineers will support the development and sustainment of any new systems deployed to meet customer requirements. DOJ's Civil Division Virtualization infrastructure is comprised of a Server cluster of VMware ESX hosts and several VMware ESX host clusters that support 2,700 Virtual desktops across two primary datacenters. There is also a Secondary Datacenter used for disaster recovery. The Virtual desktop infrastructure is run on a VMware Horizon (with View) platform, and leverages VMware's linked clone architecture with all desktops based on single master image which allows for better space utilization, better security compliance, but also requires that the desktops are recomposed every two to three months. Responsibilities Provide virtual desktop image support, including, but not limited to: Creating Base-Line Image Maintaining Production Image with Patches and Updated Business Requirements Troubleshooting In-Image Software Compatibility Issues Provide virtual desktop image development support, under Government oversight, including, but not limited to: MDT or SCCM Deployment Methodologies Evaluating Microsoft Windows 7, Windows 10, and Future Releases VMware Virtual Desktop Recompose Operations Baseline Third-Party Application Installs, including, but not limited to: Microsoft Office 2013 and Future Releases Adobe Applications and Future Releases Anti-Virus Application and Future Releases Patch Management Non-Baseline Software Installs Third-Party Plug-Ins Optimization Recommendations According to Vendor "Best Practices" Provide support for creating, maintaining, and troubleshooting VMware ThinApps, Microsoft Remote Applications, and Microsoft APP-V applications Deploy and support, under Government oversight, customer facing device infrastructure, including, but not limited to: Zero / Thin Client Management AirWatch Mobile Device Management Deploy and support, under Government oversight, customer facing peripheral device infrastructure, including, but not limited to: Printers, Scanners, Fax Machines, and Multi-Functional All-in-One Device Management External Connectivity Services, including, but not limited to: LDAP / Address Book Integration File Services Integration Email Integration Requirements: BS in Information Technology or a closely related field Over ten years of experience designing, implementing and troubleshooting enterprise class information technology systems U. S. citizen and able to obtain a minimum of Public Trust security clearance Working knowledge or experience with working with ticket- or incident- work order based tracking solution VMware Certified Professional (VCP) - Desktop or VCP-Data Center Virtualization (DCV) or VCP-Desktop (DT) MCSE strongly desired Strong experience implementing and troubleshooting VMware vSphere 5.x/6.x, Horizon View 6.x/7.x Employment Information Iron Bow offers a competitive benefits package, which includes excellent medical and dental benefits, and a 401k plan with matching.
