Well known downtown law firm is seeking a junior to mid-level Litigation Paralegal to work in their Tax Controversies practice group. The paralegal will support the firm's attorneys by assisting with substantive legal work as well as administrative tasks. Ideal candidate will play an integral role in client matters, and work closely with attorneys to deliver preeminent client services. Typical tasks involve document drafting, organization and review, legal research, assistance with due diligence matters, and general support of attorneys and staff members. Over 15 hours of overtime is often required for this position, mostly on evenings and Sundays. We are an equal opportunity employer.* Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills - background in Immigration law or an English degree would be perfect. * Must have experience (advanced) Relativity experience* Must have a "back bone" and be willing to "stand your ground" when it comes to conversations with clients, Associates and Partners concerning accuracy and appropriate and legal ways of doing things.* High attention to detail and proof reading skills are essential. Math skills are a must as "number checking" is a heavy competent of the practice area.* Must be open to overtime (up to 15 hours a week) with some required weekend work Most likely on Sundays as the partner doesn't usually work on Saturdays.* No previous tax experience required - will train. Must be willing to understand that tax law moves at a much slower procedural pace that any other practice area.
