The ideal candidates is a specialist at combining customer service and problems solving skills to produce lucrative results. This position requires a thorough knowledge of the Credit Union collection practices, creditor rights and applicable bankruptcy laws. The candidate must possess a complete understanding of how payment and payrolls are applied to accounts and the member profile of accounts. Qualified applicants for this vacancy will be fluent in Spanish. DEPARTMENT HOURS8:00 am - 6:00 pm, Monday - Friday9:00 am - 2:00 pm, Saturday (Rotating) Responsibilities Collector IMaintains the negative share category by contacting members to negotiate repayment on defaulted share accountsPosts transfers and checks to pay negative sharesPrepares and mails correspondence to membersPerforms skip tracing including pulling credit reports, using specialized software, on members with negative account balancesUpdates the computer system with current information on membersAssists members in any corrections required on their accountsRecommends adverse action for negative shares (blocked or suspended lines of credit)Balances collection department (branch) totalsMaintains the returned check queuePrepares and distributes Daily Delinquency ReportReviews and submits invoices for approvalActs as liaison with third party collection agencies to include transfer of information, posting of payments and updating accountsCollector I and II must maintain an average of 40 outbound telephone collection calls per day and maintain a maximum average of 5% or less abandoned call rate per day. Collector IIPerforms all the duties and responsibilities of a Collector IMaintains an assigned delinquent loan/VISA categoryPosts transfers and late paymentsCollects title and insurance information from members as needed to protect NASA's Security interestFollows appropriate state guidelines when recommending the repossession of vehiclesAssists in the categorization of proceeds from repossessions to enable accurate processingRecommends legal action and processes garnishments, levies, and attachmentsProcesses delinquent re-writes for referral to Member Solutions and monitors Re-Age program accounts for complianceReviews member's requests to Re-Open share accountsTerminates Lines of Credit and sends Adverse Action noticesProactively handles 1st payment default loans to monitor for potential fraudCollector I and II must maintain an average of 40 outbound telephone collection calls per day and maintain a maximum average of 5% or less abandoned call rate per day.
