For me, that's a big breath of fresh air.'- Sunrise Leader Sunrise Senior Living has an immediate need for an experienced Marketing and Communications Manager at its Community Support Office in McLean, VA (Tysons Corner). The selected candidate's primary focus/responsibility will be to manage the strategy and execution of company-wide communications, media relations and content marketing efforts that protect and enhance the company's brand reputation, grow census, build a strong company culture, and increase team member engagement. RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS Responsibilities:Drafting and editing content for traditional and digital purposes, including internal announcements, blog articles, talking points, messaging, presentations, letters, press releases, and web copyDeveloping and implementing the content marketing strategy for the blog, social media, and other owned channels; drive email marketing strategy, in coordination with the Digital Marketing team Managing issue and crisis communications in collaboration with Operations leaders, including occasional on-call support outside of normal business hours Generating positive press for Sunrise; working with the media on proactive and reactive opportunities including identifying stories/angles, managing inquiries, building relationships and news monitoring Creating and managing regular, recurring internal communications initiatives to team member audiences that provide news from around the organization Managing key vendors, setting expectations and ensuring effective and timely execution of priorities; some budget management Measuring the impact of communications activities; regularly monitoring results and feedback to enact changes to team's programs effectively Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study, eg, communications, journalism, etc., and experience in healthcare or hospitality industry preferred 5+ years of communications, journalism, and/or marketing experience; previous agency experience a plusExcellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; demonstrated talent interacting with a wide variety of people internally and externally Strong understanding of public relations, communications (internal and external), general marketing, content marketing and communicationsAbility to develop comprehensive, multi-channel strategic marketing and communications plans Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to respond to crisis and media-related situations quickly, efficiently and effectively Strong initiative and ability to handle multiple projects/roles in an evolving environment both individually and within a team Resilient, with the ability to work to deadlines and maintain high levels of professionalism while managing multiple demandsWillingness to do what it takes to complete projects with a dedication to quality and innovative thinking*LI-DV1 Sunrise maintains a drug-free work environment and all offers of employment with Sunrise are conditioned on submitting to and successfully completing and passing a drug and alcohol test.
