Kelly Scientific Resources has an great opportunity for a Wet Chemistry Technician at a leader in the manufacturing of chemicals and test kits. The Wet Chemistry Technician tests materials before, during and after production to measure the characteristics of materials and ensure they conform to specifications. Duties and Responsibilities General Duties Preparation of analytical test standard solutions Preparation of analytical reference solutions Recording and analyzing inspection data Operation of analytical instruments Maintaining a safe working environment Specific Duties Follow designated quality control procedures to ensure all incoming and outgoing materials meet required specifications Maintain records of incoming and outgoing material inspection data Maintain an up-to-date stock of all standard solutions used in production Schedule returns of nonconforming product from customers and inspect returned nonconforming product Process and document product damaged by shipping carriers Generate certificates of analysis for orders as required by customers. Assist the Director of Quality in quality investigations Write technical reports or documentation such as testing protocols and trend analyses. Requirements/Qualifications Associates degree in chemistry OR equivalent technical chemistry laboratory experience of 2 years required. Bachelor's degree preferred. One or more years of experience working in a chemical laboratory and applying analytical chemistry techniques preferred. Proficiency in volumetric, colorimetric, and spectrophotometric analysis Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques and disposal methods. Working knowledge of MS Office (Word and PowerPoint) Strong MS Office Excel Skills Good oral and written communication skills Strong mathematical ability and data analysis skills Manufacturing experience a plus Strong deductive reasoning skills and problem solving Must be detail oriented and be willing to maintain excellent records Strong interpersonal skills sufficient to develop and maintain effective business relationships. Must have ability to work independently or with a team, exercise initiative, analyze information and formulate possible solutions. Must have strong time management skills Strong skills in systems thinking and development of standardized systems, protocols and processes a plus. If you are interested in the position, please apply.
