Legal Administrative Assistant - Real Estate
Ballard Spahr LLP is seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant for our commercial real estate practice in the Washington DC office. The ideal candidate is someone who is energetic, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities and understands the cycle of a commercial real estate transaction. The selected individual will act as a team with the other LAAs to liaison between the attorneys and paralegals, as well as, clients.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: creating sets of loan documents, compiling closing documentation, overseeing post-closing follow up, managing electronic and hard copy files, opening new matters, entering time, monthly billing and managing attorney calendars.Applicants must have the ability to work effectively both independently, as well as, within a team to assist attorneys in the production of transactional documents. Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently under specific time constraints. The selected individual must possess strong organizational skills, effective communication skills, the ability to exercise initiative and judgment and have excellent spelling, grammar and proofreading skills. Intermediate level skills working with Microsoft Office Suite 2010 and document management systems. Must be able to work overtime, when needed.Requirements include 1- 3 years of commercial real estate or transactional experience, preferably in a law firm. Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of technical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly with Microsoft Word.
