Medical Technician (Phlebotomy)

About the Position:
This position is located at the Andrew Rader U.S. Army Health Clinic, located on Joint Base Myer Henderson Hall, Fort Myer, Virginia and Fort McNair, Washington DC. It is a 5 minute walking distance from the Arlington National Cemetery Metro Station or a 10-15 minute walking distance from Rosslyn, Virginia Metro Station and accessible bus transportation. The installation is approximately 7 miles from Washington, D.C., and a short distance from major road ways and express highways.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing a broad range of laboratory tests, utilizing a variety of phlebotomy equipment (syringes, butterflies, vacutainer system), operating a computer terminal to input data, and recognizing the type of tube and amount of specimen to use.

Education: Four year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major study or at least 24 semester hours in subjects directly related to the position, such as, chemistry and/or biological sciences of study.
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
