Vice President, Marketing and Strategic Initiatives (m/f)
American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) seeks a Vice President, Marketing and Strategic Initiatives to lead efforts to enhance strategic member outreach and develop strategic initiatives that drive association growth and revenue. In addition, the VP will develop and oversee all strategic marketing efforts for AWEA including conferences, events, membership, webinars and new business ventures as needed. The focus of efforts will be to implement stronger targeted marketing efforts, develop targeted prospect lists, increase conference attendance and association revenue, and facilitate more coordinated communications to association members from all departments. This position will collaborate closely with VPs of Education & Conferences and Member Relations and lead a cross-departmental team to implement and coordinate member messaging. Essential Functions/Responsibilities Develop and oversee strategic marketing plans, policies and objectives to grow AWEA revenue and member engagement. Ensure accurate, consistent messaging in AWEA's marketing initiatives. Directs market research, product/service planning, and advertising functions to accomplish AWEA objectives/dashboard goals. Lead a cross departmental team to effectively implement strategic member messaging aligned with public affairs themes and talking points. Lead efforts to develop new programs and services aligned with industry needs to include accreditation programs, certification programs, and other new strategic initiatives. Oversee member marketing data and segmentation within the association management system in collaboration with IT to ensure efficient outreach for AWEA programs to qualified and interested member segments. Evaluate needed partners to develop and implement marketing efforts and strategic initiatives such as accreditation and certification. Directly manage the marketing team. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities AWEA is a collaborative workplace. The individual must be willing and able to work constructively as a part of a team, while also demonstrating timely follow through on individual tasks. Demonstrated written and oral communications skills; well versed and knowledgeable of major industry trends. The ideal candidate has expertise in project management; full marketing campaign lifecycle management experience, from concept development to ROI analysis; sharp creative eye, with experience in creative services project management, including oversight of emails, landing pages, print, web and other marketing vehicles; and direct experience working with executive teams, sales teams and event or product management, both internally and externally. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative and the ability to work independently to high professional standards and be extremely organized with excellent PC skills, including Microsoft Office.
