The AVP/VP, Consultant & Client Relations will be responsible for building and managing consultant relations efforts for key consultant relationships. In addition to building strong relationships with consulting firms, the successful candidate will partner with sales representatives, portfolio management, and other business units to direct client relations activities. Bentall Kennedy is a member of the SunLife Investment Management group of companies. * Build strategic relationships with international, national and regional consultants by collaborating with sales representatives and portfolio management. * Create an annual contact plan for each consulting firm, covering relevant investment strategies, to build relationships across the leadership, field and research consultant groups. * Contribute to and oversee populating of industry and consultant databases. * Serve as resource to consultants on markets, product development and trends. * Lead relationships with research consultants, including responding to incoming requests and opportunities in a timely manner, as well as planning, coordinating and participating in research meetings. * Working in collaboration with the affiliate distribution resources, serve as a key contact and coordinator for consultant-led RFPs. * Identify and communicate industry trends (asset allocation and search) and consultant activity * Special and ad hoc projects, as assigned * 5+ years of relevant experience: consultant relations, investment consulting, portfolio management/research, or institutional relationship management. * Bachelor's degree, preferable in finance, economics, or related field, * Strong rolodex of consultant relationships * Knowledge of US institutional product landscape, including alternatives * Exceptional interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), organization, and presentation skill * Proactive team player; ability to prioritize and work with professionals at all levels of the organization * High level of self-motivation, with strong integrity and ethics * Demonstrated analytical ability * Series 7 (or ability to obtain) The compensation plan for this individual will be commensurate with the skills required of the position and will be negotiated to attract exceptional candidates.
