Job Description Summary of Work PerformedThe Manager is responsible for the day to day operations of The Point in Fells, under the direction of the Owner. Must have a minimum of 1 years restaurant management experience. This includes conducting the business affairs of the restaurant, supervision and development of the management team and employees. Purchasing, food quality, safety, sanitation, marketing and adhering to the perfect guest dining experience while ensuring that all Point standards, financials, policies and procedures are implemented with efficiency. This manager must be skillful in all aspects of running an upscale casual, high volume dining restaurant, able to prioritize, communicate and work to achieve results. Duties and ResponsibilitiesBusiness Affairs Day to day functions of the restaurant, such as banking, cash control, maintenance of restaurant records, purchasing of products and supplies, invoice accuracy (ordering, pricing, receiving), maintain control of cost factors in operating and expense categories such as food and labor costs, safety and sanitation practices are implemented. Daily sales and cost controls sent to owners/managers as part of closing duties. Financial responsibility and performance of the restaurant Implementing operational changes, including new menu items, recipe or procedures that are approved by Points. Continuously focused on improving the guest dining experience, events and bar atmosphere. Must be adept at conducting inventory, invoicing, back office accounting. Purchasing and inventory management and projections Managing and adhere to set budget projections.Supervision Hire, train and develop managers, supervisors and employees to ensure a complete understanding of all needs within the restaurant. (Guest experience, building the brand, and profitability). Develop management schedules and allocate the work load of projects to the appropriate team members. Provide management presence in the restaurant at all times. Meets with directors and managers weekly. Develop an in-store training team to assist the managers with the development of new hires. Ensure manager and employee orientations are complete with paperwork, training schedules, and job expectations set. All approved changes to the menu or promotions are communicated to the team and effectively implemented.Guest Experience Ensure that all FOH staff continually and always adhere to the Points guest experience standards. Check all systems perfection and follow through every 30 minutes to include clean dining area, bathrooms, entrance ways, etc. while using our figure 8 walk through system. Frequent Guest contact and high visibility in the dining room are to be apparent at all times. Inquires periodically and timely about the guest experience in a sincere manner. When necessary, involving a manager immediately if and when a negative guest experience is identified. Responsible for thanking each and every Guest (with the help of FOH managers) for the patronage in a sincere manner.Purchasing / Product Quality Purchase approved products and supplies in the amounts needed to support the level of business expected. Ensure the quality; quantity and handling of all products are in accordance with Points expectations. Ensure the standard recipes and methods are used at all times to ensure consistency and efficiency for all menu items.Building Sales Understand what the industry trends are, passing along anything learned to the owners and managers that may better the brand. Pursue methods to increase sales through the use of promotions, local advertising, and increased average sales per guest and community involvement. Safety & Sanitation The health and safety of our guests is a priority. Cleanliness of the inside and outside of the restaurant must be adhered to in accordance with Points and local health department expectations. Proper practices must be in place to ensure food safety. Specific requirements: At least 2 years of general management experience in a fast paced upscale casual restaurant Current, salaried management experience in a high-volume full service restaurant preferred Ability to perform assigned duties under pressure.
