Provides mental health interventions to children and adolescents who are confronted with behavioral and emotional issues. Enables and supports the child to remain in the least restrictive setting/service. May work with the child in their school, home, or within the community. Focus is given to the goals and interventions within the child's individualized treatment plan to support the child's ability to reduce unwanted/inappropriate behaviors and/or emotional disturbances. Assists the child to develop and utilize replacement behaviors and coping skills. Supports those responsible for the child by transferring skills to teachers, parents, and caregivers to foster independence and socially acceptable behaviors. Counsel with emphasis on prevention. Works with individuals to promote optimum mental and emotional health. This position will interact constructively and cross functionally with all members of the Behavioral Health Rehabilitative Services (BHRS) team and community. Assist the Behavior Specialist Consultant (BSC) or Mobile Therapist (MT) in the development and implementation of therapeutic interventions as specified in the individualized treatment plan. Provide Behavioral Health Director, Case Manager, BSC/MT, and other interagency support team members with clinical feedback, data, or other pertinent information to support treatment. Engages with the child in age appropriate therapeutic activities. Presents relevant clinical information observed in a timely and professional manner to the BSC/MT, Case Manager, or Director. Demonstrates the on-going ability and willingness to use supervision effectively to improve the quality of therapeutic support services. Maintains dialogue regarding the child's progress toward treatment goals. Ability to identify short and long term goals based on interactions with child and their family. Completes all required documentation in accordance with established organizational policies and procedures, as well as state regulations. Demonstrates acceptable clinical practices. Ensures weekly supervision requirement is met in accordance with state regulations. Fulfills child's prescribed hours as authorized. Must be able and willing to intervene and control agitated clients through physical and non-physical interventions. Safe Crisis Management certification is required at time of initial new hire training and annually thereafter. Remains in compliance with all Franklin Family Services policies and procedures, as well as applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Attends meetings, training, and seminars as required for position. Demonstrates courteous, cooperative, and respectful behavior during interactions with child, family, and others. Maintain professional boundaries with all clients/family members in accordance with sound clinical judgment and Franklin Family Services Code of Conduct. Represents Franklin Family Services, Inc. in a professional and ethical manner at all times. Must have reliable transportation. Travel is primarily based on requirements that are job related and consistent with business necessity. Minimum Requirements are as follows: -Bachelor's Degree in a mental health field (psychology, counseling, social work). -Bachelor's Degree in any other field with a minimum of 1 year of paid experience working with children/adolescents. -Associate's Degree in a mental health field (psychology, counseling, social work) with a minimum of 3 years paid experience working with children/adolescents. Demonstrate ability to use soft skills to achieve objectives. Ability to obtain and maintain all required Clearances (ACT168, ACT31, FBI, State Criminal, Childline). Ability to obtain and maintain PDD as required by school districts. Additional qualifications, as specified from time to time, by regulatory agencies and/or employer.
