TB Wood's Inc., an Altra Industrial Motion company, is seeking a Human Resources Generalist for the Chambersburg, PA location. Job Summary: The human resource generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the Human Resources Manager with providing support to TB Wood's-Chambersburg employees. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Employment Policy AdministrationPartners with employees and management to communicate and interpret various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.Provides recommendations for revisions to current policy and procedure, toAssists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.Recruitment and On-BoardingDevelops, coordinates and executes recruitment and retention program in line with strategic plan and plant performance for all nonexempt personnel, students and temporary employees and assists the Human Resources Manager with exempt recruitment.Creates and/or updates job descriptions for existing and new positions.Manages open position requisitions on applicant tracking system.Sources candidates from various avenues, including online job boards, career fairs, temporary agencies and advertisements.Maintains the Employee Referral program.Conducts pre-screening activities, including phone interviews, of qualified candidates.Schedules interviews and assists in the selection of employees to fill vacant positions.Develops and extends offers of employment to candidates.Coordinates and schedules all pre-employment screenings (ie drug screens, pre-employment physicals, employment verifications, criminal background checks, education verification, etc.).Conducts new-employee orientations.Manages recruitment and retention metrics and provides recommendations for continued improvement.Benefit and Compensation Program AdministrationAdministers the compensation program; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, invoices for payment and communicating benefit information to employees.Communicate any plan changes or relevant benefit information through announcements, payroll stuffers, or email.Handles benefit inquiries and complaints to ensure quick, equitable, courteous resolution. Maintains contact in person, and by phone or mail, with benefit consultant, employees, and beneficiaries to facilitate proper and complete utilization of benefits for all employees.Completes open enrollment process on a yearly basis, including preparation of materials, planning and conducting open enrollment meetings, providing resolution to employee inquiries and prepare and enter data into HRIS system.Manages leave programs such as Family Medical Leave and Short Term Disability. Performance ManagementEnsures compliance with the annual performance management process to include timely completion of performance review documents, goal setting, and appropriate salary increases.Manages production progression evaluation program, and provides guidance and recommendations to front line leaders on performance criteria.Participate in career development discussions and planning with line management.Works closely with HR Manager and Front Line Leaders to develop and implement development programs for front line employees, in line with Lean/ABS principles. HRIS/Payroll AdministrationMaintains awareness of current state and federal wage and hour laws.Manages KRONOS timekeeping records, including reviewing timesheets, providing exception reports to Supervisors for review, and updating timesheets for any missed times provided by the Supervisors.Manages HRIS data for TBW-Chambersburg employees. Enters and updates information timely to maintain current and accurate information. Identifies gaps in data and consults with leadership on accuracy of information.Creates and runs reports as needed. Analyzes data and provides recommendations for continuous improvement.Maintains payroll records in accordance with Federal Law and Internal Audit procedures. Proactively identifies areas of potential SOX/Audit conflicts, and provides resolution Employee RelationsConsultant to front line leaders on employee performance and policy violations. Provides guidance and assistance in line with employee investigation process and procedure.Conducts all employee relations matters with objectivity, to maintain the integrity of review. Collects data and facts from all parties before recommendations are provided.Assists the HR Manager with conducting complex employment investigations, and provides feedback on determinationPrepares employee separation notices and related documentation (HIPPA, COBRA, etc.), and conducts exit interviews. Analyzes results and make recommendations for retention strategies. Employee Recognition and ActivitiesIdentify, recommend, and manage initiatives that result in high levels of employee satisfaction and engagement which increase productivity and retention. This may include social/company events, employee appreciation activities, recognition programs, etc.Collaborates with the Human Resources Manager to organize all company social and recreational functions, plant training, and communication updates.Serves as a liaison between the Company and outside vendors for various needs including temporary staffing, products and services, food and beverages, and uniform services. ReportingDevelops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually; maintain other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.Prepares monthly human resources reports, including turnover, accidents, labor hours, manning, attendance, etc.Assists in evaluation of reports and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.Conducts and participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.Performs other related duties as required and assigned. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, the employee will be required to interact with employees in the plant, which is a typical Foundry/Machine Shop/Warehouse environment. PPE will be required where necessary. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time, dayshift position. Some evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Travel Minimal travel is expected for this position, including travel to other Altra Locations for meetings, trainings, etc., as well as travel for continuing education (ie Seminars, Conferences, etc.).
