We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly engaged individual to lead the marketing and communication initiatives for Octo. Your work will play a pivotal role in our brand awareness and will have a real impact on future initiatives. As the Marketing Manager at Octo, you will have the following duties and responsibilities: General Job Responsibilities Manage Octo's branding; ensure all outbound communications maintain consistent messaging and are appropriately branded and consumable by the intended audience. Serve as a trusted advisor to higher management on new developments, advancements, and techniques in emerging technologies. Collect, summarize, and analyze data to assess reaction to material and products and advise higher management regarding modification for improvement to existing communications strategies. Design and Lead Marketing Campaigns Lead digital media marketing strategy, including Octo's web site, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and other digital platforms. Direct special events and other activities intended to develop an interest in the organization and the customers we support, including webinars, videos, receptions and other events as needed. Position Octo in the Media as a Thought Leader in Support of Strategic Objectives Plan and develop communication and outreach activities related to Octo. Coordinate the distribution of information that informs and educates about Octo's projects' policies, programs, services, resources, and activities. Develop timely, reactive responses to events and coordinate activities with internal stakeholders. Develop and maintain a consistent flow of press releases press releases. Plan and Execute Trade Show and Marketing Events Plan a message strategy for Octo and develop branding collateral as needed, including but not limited to shows, corporate trade teams, and marketing and advertising initiatives. Coordinate the production and use of outreach materials, including promotional items, advertisement of events, registration, agenda and logistics, preparation of handouts, site setup, and coordination of other follow-up activities. Create Marketing Literature for Web, Social Media, and Print Write, prepare, modify and revise a variety of communication and educational materials for use in widespread marketing efforts. Create and modify a repository of Case Studies and White Papers. Create and modify a repository of marketing tools, including but not limited to website updates, brochures, flyers, social media content, newsletter content, presentations, advertising, and any trade show collateral. Evaluate new information technology developments to determine their applicability to and potential effectiveness for meeting communications needs. Required Skills: Must be a strong strategic thinking with excellent project management and organizational skills Must be a team player and possess the ability to work across the organization with business personnel at all levels Must have a positive, proactive attitude Must be a self-starter that can work with little or no supervision. Must be flexible to change and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Great customer service and interfacing with customers required Minimum of 7 years of related work experience At least 3 years of experience with managing social media (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) At least 3 years of govcon, technology-focused, comprehensive marketing experience (writing/editing, public relations, event planning and communications management). At least 3 years of experience with drafting articles, press releases and success stories. Experience with creating flyers, FAQs, fact sheets and other marketing materials. Expert level experience in MS applications, particularly in working with PowerPoint presentations. Strong knowledge of traditional marketing, digital marketing, content marketing, and advertising strategy Experienced in writing press releases Strong written and oral communication skills and attention to detail Experience with assessing and evaluating the effectiveness of various communication strategies and methods including analytics. Location: Reston, VA Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Physical Requirements: Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 80% of the time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc. Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs.
