Contracts Administrator - Federal

MAXIMUS Federal Services currently has an opening for a Contracts Administrator II in our Falls Church, VA office. The Contracts Administrator II will work in support of the MAXIMUS Federal IT sector. The successful candidate will support major proposal activities, as well as perform the entire contracting life cycle from award and execution to close-out and archiving. The Administrator will work with the Senior Contracts Manager, VP of Contracts, Business Development and client facing company VPs, Directors and PMs on contractual activities including both pre-award and post-award activities. Reviews solicitations and prepares specialized and/or non-routine response for proposals. Works directly with Business Development assisting with the overall procurement approachAnalyzes significant, and/or unique contract requirements, special provisions, terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and corporate policies and business unit procedure, ultimately reducing risk to the companyProvides authoritative guidance to internal business teams on corporate goals and objectives relating to contract activityInteracts and communicates as appropriate with finance/accounting and business team disciplines for resolution of contract issues and disputesDevelops negotiation strategy and assists with negotiation on contractual issuesCoordinates with the contracting officer to obtain administrative documentation; Manages contract change control processMaintains contract data base and associated filesExecute entire contracting life cycle, from participation in proposal preparation through award and execution to close-out and archivingHigh School Diploma or GED requiredBachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is preferredAt least five (5) years of Federal Government contracts experience requiredExcellent people, analytical, and negotiation skillsAbility to communicate and interact effectively both orally and in writing at all levels of the organizationAbility to build and maintain strong relationships with client personnel and internal company personnel.Excellent attention to detailGood technical writing skills with the ability to draft moderate to complex, non-routine contractual documentsMust be able to review and analyze large Federal procurementsExperience administering complex contracts with tight deadlines in a challenging environmentMust be able to quickly develop working knowledge of corporate policies and procedures and show aptitude for identifying improvements to established policiesMust be able to use independent judgment and creativity to arrive at resolution of contract issuesWorks well within a team as well as independently with minimal supervisionAbility to handle multiple simultaneous projectsProficient in technology tools, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office applications and SharePointAbility to collaborate with other functional departmentsExperience and familiarity with the FAR and DFARS are highly preferredExperience with Small Business Subcontracting and GSA Schedules are highly preferredWell-developed knowledge of general business operations and management functions and principles (business development, finance/accounting, operations, and information technology) preferredPhysical Requirements: Ability to sit for up to 80% of timeWork is performed in a fast-paced office environment with a low to moderate noise levelA committed and diverse workforce is our most important resource.
