    THIS IS A CRITICAL ACQUISITION POSITION (CAP). Selectee for this position will be required to sign a written agreement to remain, for a minimum of three years, in the federal service in this
    critical acquisition position.
    This position requires Acquisition Workforce Level III certification in Contracting. Certification prior to hiring is not essential but must be accomplished within 24 months after entry into this position, unless a Position Requirements Waiver is approved to extend the 24 months.
    Selectee or incumbent must be able to obtain the appropriate certification level for their position.
    The incumbent must meet requirements for membership in the DoD Acquisition Corps.
    Candidates must meet the physical and suitability standards both prior to and during employment in this position.

    This position has a Basic Requirement for the 1102 series: DAWIA EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS, Public Law 106-398, Section 808: A.) A baccalaureate degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees AND B.) at least 24 semester hours (or equivalent) of study from an accredited institution of higher education in any of the following disciplines; accounting, business finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, and organization and management; OR C.) a civilian employee in DOD or member of the Armed Forces, who occupied a GS-1102 position or contracting officer position with authority to award or administer contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold on or before September 30th, 2000 is excluded from the requirements of A. AND B. above, but must meet the requirements identified in Public Law 101-510, section 1724: A OR B above, or 10 years of acquisition experience prior to October 1, 1991. TRANSCRIPTS MUST BE SUBMITTED TO VERIFY THE ABOVE EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS. And B. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to meeting the DAWIA requirements above, applicants must demonstrate one year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To be credible, specialized experience must be at the GS-13 level.

    WAIVER: Requirements of paragraphs A and B above may be waived if the agency's senior procurement executive certifies that the applicant possesses significant potential for advancement to levels of greater responsibility and authority, based on demonstrated analytical and decision making capabilities, job performance, and qualifying experience.

    You must have one year Specialized Experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private/military sector) giving the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position. Experience must be reflected in your resume.

    Specialized experience required for this position is: Changing, interpreting, or developing contracting and procurement policies or programs; solves acquisition problems related to the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) Program.
