JOB SUMMARY:

The selectee for this position will serve as a Financial Technician in the Requirements/Comptroller Directorate of US FLEET CYBER COMMAND. He/she serves as a Financial Technician performing clerical tasks in collecting, analyzing, evaluating and disseminating timely and accurate financial data. Reviews commitment and obligation documents; examines each document to ensure completeness and accuracy of data, and perform necessary liaison to resolve questions concerning obligations. Coordinates travel related functions as Authorizing Official (AO) within the Defense Travel System (DTS) in accordance with the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), Defense Travel Management Office policy, and Navy policy. Resolves problems in processing non-standard transactions. Ensures compliance with all travel regulations, policy and directives in processing travel authorizations and vouchers.

    Selectee must complete a Special Background investigation and receive a favorable adjudication by a determining authority. A Top Secret security clearance is a requirement of this position and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).     Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the applicant fails to report to the scheduled drug test appointment.     All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service. Non-DCIPS applicants selected for a DCIPS position must acknowledge in writing, prior to actual appointment to the DCIPS position, that the position for which he or she has been selected is in the excepted service and covered by DCIPS. Federal employees currently serving in the competitive service must also acknowledge that they will voluntarily leave the competitive service by accepting an offer of employment for a DCIPS position. This acknowledgement is necessary as movement between the excepted service and competitive service may be limited if the employee does not possess competitive status.

    Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) requires that all new employees successfully complete a two-year trial period if not previously completed in a prior DCIPS appointment.

    In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered.     Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing clerical tasks in collecting, analyzing, evaluating and disseminating timely and accurate financial data; 2) Coordinating travel related functions as Authorizing Official (AO) within the Defense Travel System (DTS) in accordance with the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), Defense Travel Management Office policy, and Navy policy; 3) Ensuring compliance with government purchase card regulations, policy and directives to include the DoD FMR and DoD GCC Guidebook; 4) Generating government reports that allow for planning actions and for evaluating financial performance for the command.
